Rivendell, East Horsley. A contemporary extension and renovation to a large mock Tudor home in East Horsley.

INTRODUCTION

A contemporary extension and renovation to a large mock Tudor home in East Horsley.

WHAT WAS THE BRIEF?

On a very generous plot, located in an affluent area of Surrey, the existing property was dated, dark and not conducive to modern family living. The external appearance was bland and in need of a revamp. A large conservatory structure to the rear provided a large dining area however this added to the dated appearance and was not desirable to the client.

OUR SOLUTION

Due to the large existing footprint, we were able to utilise the generous existing loft, rationalising the roof construction and installing a rear dormer provided an attractive 2nd floor master suite with views out over the garden. A vast rear extension with fullwidth rear sliding doors and sedum roof afforded an open plan kitchen living dining for the family to enjoy together. Some subtle tweaks to the front elevation have rejuvenated a tired looking façade.

This scheme was originally rejected by planning and was eventually approved by obtaining two separate permitted development certificates and a planning approval to make minor enlargements and alterations.

Our Technical drawings and construction details ensured this intricate scheme was built with minimal fuss.

We would highly recommend Cameron and his team. He listened to our requirements and proposed designs and then added his design flair. He worked within our budget and is very approachable. The quality of his work and plans were top drawer.
